A Pro-Am trip for people who dance as a hobby

Start by watching, or prepare an entry with the professional who teaches you. Distinguish announced Blackpool dates from a past Bali edition, then check eligibility, categories and admission separately.

01

Choose between watching, learning and competing

Pro-Am pairs a student with a professional or teacher. Crown Cup’s general rules describe this partnership and distinguish dance levels, but its rules do not establish eligibility at every organizer’s event. A first holiday lesson is different from preparing routines for a competition. If you dance as a hobby, begin by deciding whether this trip is for watching, a casual class or a planned entry with your teacher.

02

Blackpool: use the dates for the Pro-Am event

The organizer lists Blackpool’s ProAm and Teacher Student event for 22–25 May 2027, before the main festival on 27 May–4 June. Confirm which event you mean before arranging travel. Use the existing event guide for its dates, then review that edition’s information pack, categories, eligibility and registration status with your teacher. A registration link alone does not confirm a place in your category.

03

Bali: separate competition day from the surrounding trip

Crown Cup Bali’s official homepage gives 31 October 2026 as competition day and marks entry Closed; its entry page sets a 20 October deadline. As checked on 2 November 2026, both dates have passed. This is a past-edition example, not an event we present as currently open for entry.

The linked schedule separately lists yoga and dinner on 2 November and departure on 3 November for certain VIP package holders. Those surrounding travel activities are not new competition entry. The next Bali edition’s date is unconfirmed. This guide concerns ballroom/Latin Pro-Am, not bodybuilding competitions.

04

Four questions to work through with your teacher

Our editorial checklist is eligibility, level and categories, what each charge includes, and the actual running order. Crown Cup’s general framework includes Newcomer levels, but individual editions can differ. Dance-entry fees and venue admission are separate concepts. Check lessons, teacher accompaniment, travel, clothing and admission individually; avoid basing inflexible travel arrangements on an unconfirmed schedule.

05

Enjoy Blackpool without entering a competition

Blackpool Tower Ballroom describes dancing to organ music and watching from tables or balconies. It is a different venue from Winter Gardens, with its own opening and admission arrangements. A seaside walk and ballroom visit can suit a hobby traveller who is not entering an event. This is an editorial suggestion, not a package including Pro-Am entry or show tickets.

Official sources checked: 2026-11-02. Classes, spectating and competitions are different activities. This guide does not guarantee availability or eligibility; confirm conditions for your date with the relevant operator.
